Legs on covers cliché

An article which sites the use of legs on covers as a cliché. Having popped a few legs on jackets myself in the past I know that it's an easy way to not give too much away about the central character but give good positioning clues to the purchaser, 'lovely shoes' etc. It's good that it's over, it was the equivalent of not being able to draw hands so leave them off.
